Once you have chosen the candidate whom you support, compare and contrast their “Presidential Candidate” web sight with their official sight and the sights of the other two active candidates. You will find links to these sites posted in the right column of this blog.

  1. I think Barack Obama, current Senator of Illinois, will be a good president if he gets elected. First of all, I like his policy about Iraq. The Iraqi troops abroad have been there for many years, but still, it seems like not much has been done about it. In my point of view, when domestic economics are not in a good shape and federal debt is reaching high, there should be less care for international relationship and foreign policy. The upcoming government should focus on refining domestic systems and solving domestic problems. I also like his idea about Tax reform. To activate the market, taxes should remain low, although high taxes are needed to pay national debt. I think tax policy of America is very complicated, so it will be easier for citizens to have easier and simpler tax laws.
Lastly, I like his charismatic characteristics and his ability to speak up in front of others. He has made several impressive speeches, and majority of people have approved those. As a leader of a country and representative, courage to speak to large groups of people and speaking ability is required.

  3. Barack Obama’s campaign site is more modern and trying to get the viewer involved. The first screen that comes up asks you to donate or sign up for the newsletter. On the other hand, his official site simply states the facts of his views, not trying to suck you in and get you to vote for him.

  4. The official page for Obama is more formal and there is no opportunity for the general public to blog, or really support him in anyway. However, when you enter his presidential page, you are immediately asked for your e-mail address and zip code so you can join his campaign. Basically the main difference is that the official site is just stating straight forward facts and events that took place concerning Obama.

  5. The official McCain page is nothing but a list of facts and speeches that he has made. There are no advertisements for any campaigns and it is very factual. There is no interaction available in the official site. On the campaign site, there are a lot of interactive things such as blogs and things that let you support the campaign. A lot of the issues are stated out very clearly, making it easy to find his opinions on certain issues.
